Statement:
Generally work has evolved, extended and fused into a melting pot from several areas of practice which include life drawing, drawing/painting, mixed media, collage, ceramic/sculpture, textiles & design (screen printing), banana fibre basketry, print making, photography and Photoshop.
Although the human form and natural surroundings of tropical rainforest, mountains, beach and backyard have been and remain a constant and rich source for perceptual inspiration & materials to manipulate, I continue developing visual imagery evolved from a sense of attachment with the energies of mark making, colour, the thread, stitch and vessel form, exploring concepts and influences, impacting on my senses, memory and perception.
Using multiple and mixed mediums, connections, relationships & unity are explored through visual language elements, symbology, between ones inner-self (soul/spirit/life-force/essence), psyche and the outer world. Currently notions of passage, transition/change, duality, facades, reflection, containment, and synthesis/fusion are contemplated and reflected upon in my work.
